First Nations-owned construction company TVN On-Country has been backed by the Victorian Government to deliver the final stages of the Junction Place precinct in Wodonga, on Duduroa Country.
The company, which won the Karen Milward Excellence Award at the Victorian Aboriginal Business Awards last week and was honoured twice at the Supply Nation Supplier Diversity Awards in August, will build and operate the new commercial and cultural hub, which will celebrate First Nations heritage, create jobs for families in and around Wodonga, and serve as the new home of TVN On-Country's national headquarters.
The Junction Place precinct will feature a cultural learning centre and gallery, yarning circle, and commercial office spaces, all designed to promote economic, educational and cultural opportunities across the region.
TVN On-Country Managing Director Jebb Hutchison said the announcement and the new hub will help grow and expand First Nations excellence in regional Victoria.
"This is self-determination in action for First Nations people in regional Victoria," the Wiradjuri man said.
"The development will be a powerful enabler for our culture to thrive and for mob to grow and develop their businesses and services."
The hub will also become a permanent base for On-Country Pathways, a First Nations-owned not-for-profit that supports young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through employment and career pathways.
Construction will begin after community consultation and development approvals are finalised.
Victorian Minister for Development Harriet Shing said TVN On-Country's appointment reflects the project's focus on community and cultural connection.
"This project is about creating a place that brings people together," she said.
"Celebrating pride in culture, supporting local jobs and helping Wodonga thrive."
Executive General Manager of Precincts Niall Cunningham said the appointment marked a key milestone in the precinct's development.
"The appointment of TVN On-Country will be a valuable addition to Junction Place, helping to shape a vibrant and diverse precinct that benefits the entire community and beyond," he said.
Last year, the state government appointed Birchmore Group to develop sites 1, 3, 4 and 5 at Junction Place. The broader project is expected to deliver around 200 homes, short-stay accommodation and mixed-use spaces, supporting more than 1,000 local jobs and boosting Wodonga's economy.
"Wodonga locals have watched Junction Place grow over the years, and this next stage will make it an even more vibrant place to live, work and visit," said Treasurer and Member for Northern Victoria, Jaclyn Symes.
The Junction Place contract follows TVN On-Country's recent recognition as Regional Commercial Builder of the Year at the 2025 Master Builders Victoria Excellence in Construction Awards for its work on the Munarra Centre for Regional Excellence in Shepparton, on Yorta Yorta Country.
Completed last year, the Munarra Centre was the largest project ever awarded by the Victorian Government to a First Nations-owned business.
