Celebrating the dedication of students of Dilin Duwa Centre for Indigenous Business Leadership's courses, the Murra Indigenous Business Masterclass Program and the Graduate Certificate of Indigenous Business Leadership graduation event was held at the Melbourne Business School (MBS) in Naarm recently.

Former students flew in from across the country for a dinner and presentation, honouring the commitment and work of the students.

Dilin Duwa said the commitment, engagement and completion of these courses, and the important networks formed "will likely ensure a continued collective approach to a sustainable economic future for Indigenous Australia going forward in this country".

The Ceremony focused on "a brilliant cohort of current Indigenous business leaders, entrepreneurs and staunch individuals determined to change the economic futures of both their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities collectively", Dilin Duwa said.

Murra Program Manager Dr Mark Jones said Murra "is vital to the ongoing evolution, development and growth of First Peoples' enterprises".

"It supports foundational skill development in navigating the challenges of the enterprise ecosystem whilst also building a Founder network of like-minded people focused on economic and community self-determination," he said.

Dilin Duwa, established four years ago, offers several courses through the Melbourne Business School (MBS) and the University of Melbourne tailored to Indigenous Australian Business owners and leaders.

Dilin Duwa's Engagement Stream lead and Lecturer, Dr Ash Francisco, is also a former student of the Murra Program.

"As alumni, I love the annual gathering of Murras in Naarm for graduation," Dr Francisco said.

"I always feel fortunate to be a part of this celebration of black excellence. With a family vibe and past alumni attendance, it's important to catch up with everyone and equally inspiring to see and hear about all the Alumni and Graduating students' businesses and news," she said.
