Two key executives from the public sector have joined the Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation to help deliver its strategy to enhance the lives of First Nations people.
The recent appointments of Ray Lennox as general manager of ILSC's western division and Krystal Perkins as general manager of its eastern division reinforce ILSC's commitment to delivering its National Indigenous Land and Sea Strategy.
The strategy is designed to produce positive outcomes for First Nations peoples across Australia.
Mr Lennox, a proud Samsep, Erub and Torres Strait Islander man brings a wealth of experience to the WA-based role.
The ILSC said his previous tenures in leadership positions across the public sector had equipped him with a deep understanding of issues impacting Indigenous communities.
Ms Perkins, a descendant of the Arunta and Nyamal peoples, joins the ILSC with a strong track record in Indigenous economic development and employment.
She has gained invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing First Nations communities, particularly through her previous role at the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
ILSC group CEO Joe Morrison said they were delighted to secure the pair for the critical leadership roles.
"We are delighted to welcome Ray and Krystal to these critical leadership positions," he said.
"Their expertise and passion for Indigenous affairs will be instrumental in driving the ILSC's mission forward and delivering positive outcomes to communities around Australia."
Ms Perkins said she relished a chance to make real and lasting impact for Indigenous communities.
"Working within the ILSC is an invaluable opportunity to advocate for First Nations land and sea aspirations, and to further advance the cultural, social and economic rights of our communities, and for generations to come," she said.
Mr Lennox said he was excited to work closely in First Nations communities across WA.
"I'm looking forward to ensuring our support is aligned with First Nations and their aspirations for land and water rights," he said.
