Ember Connect has opened applications for the latest round of its Game Changer Grants, offering practical financial support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are starting or growing a small business.

With the support of its corporate partner BHP, Ember Connect will award three grants of $5,000 to women at different stages of their business journey, from early idea development through to established small enterprises.

Ember Connect General Manager Narelle Henry said the grants are designed to remove barriers and back women to take the next step.

"These grants are about more than funding. They are about confidence, belief and backing women to invest in themselves and their ideas," Ms Henry said.

"We know that when First Nations women are supported to build businesses, the impact flows through families, communities and future generations."

The Game Changer Grants are open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are members of Ember Connect. Membership is free, easy to join, and provides access to mentoring, networks, learning opportunities and resources that support personal, professional and cultural development.

Applications close at 11.59pm on 31 January. More information and application details are available online, or contact Ember Connect via info@emberconnect.com.au.
