Giovanni Torre -

Indigenous tourism entrepreneur Neville Poelina, along with independent filmmaker Melanie Hogan and television presenter Jamie Durie, have won the 2025 AACTA Reg Grundy Award and $50,000 towards the development of a pilot for their concept show, Unspoiled.

The proposed program will Mr Poelina of Uptuyu Aboriginal Adventures, a Kimberley-based company, take city-dwellers out of their comfort zones and into the bush where he will teach them bush medicine and survival skills.

He aims to forever enhance the visitor's appreciation of the land and Indigenous culture.

After winning the award Mr Poelina said he was thrilled to see a long-held vision slowly coming to life.

"I've always believed, if something is to be, it is up to me," he said.

"Winning this award is the perfect opportunity to extend my appreciation to my mother, father, and children for being their wonderful selves."

Grundy television executive and award panel judge Sharon Wheeler said the award "has always been about discovering bold, original ideas that have the potential to shape the future of Australian television, as Reg Grundy did".

"With Unspoiled, we see that potential fully realised - a format that entertains, inspires, and educates all at once," she said.
