Halls Creek came together on Saturday evening to celebrate the region's innovation, resilience, and community spirit at the inaugural Halls Creek Business Excellence Awards, hosted at the Kimberley Hotel.
The sold-out event, delivered by the East Kimberley Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EKCCI), recognised outstanding local businesses and entrepreneurs whose creativity, determination, and hard work continue to drive opportunity across the Shire.
The EKCCI noted that despite" years of challenges", Halls Creek's business community has shown "remarkable strength and ingenuity".
The Awards celebrated not only success but the people behind it; the owners, teams, and families who keep the region's economy thriving.
A total of 12 businesses submitted 15 applications, reflecting the diversity and drive within the local economy.
The 2025 Award winners were:
- Innovation Award - Halls Creek Women's Hub
- For Community Purpose Award - Jungarni-Jutiya Indigenous Corporation
- Indigenous Excellence Award - Trancolino Madden Contracting
- Customer Service Excellence Award - Halls Creek 4WD
- New Business of the Year - Bindiri Services Pty Ltd
- Business of the Year - Trancolino Madden Contracting
- Businessperson of the Year - Brenda Garstone, Bindiri Services Pty Ltd
EKCCI President Bobby Henggeler said the Awards captured the heart of what makes regional enterprise special.
"This is what real business looks like; people having a go, creating jobs, and shaping their community," he said.
"Small businesses make up 90 per cent of our economy and employ most of our workforce. Tonight is about recognising that contribution and saying thank you."
Organisers said the event marks the beginning of a biennial tradition that will continue to "celebrate excellence and inspire the next generation of business leaders in Halls Creek".
