Indigenous Business Australia and non-for-profit First Nations Foundation have partnered to support stronger financial capability, confidence, and economic participation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.
The partnership will facilitate a range of initiatives delivered by First Nations Foundation, including financial wellness outreach, community educator training, and targeted programs for Indigenous women and men that build financial knowledge and confidence.
Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) Director of Business Solutions, Trudy Hart, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment between the government corporate and charity to increasing financial education and support
"Financial capability is an important foundation for economic participation. Through this partnership, we're supporting practical, culturally informed education and resources that strengthen financial knowledge and support informed decision-making," Ms Hart said.
"By working together, we can build on the strengths of both organisations and extend the reach of initiatives that support financial wellbeing and stronger economic outcomes.
"For more than 25 years, First Nations Foundation has worked alongside First Nations communities to improve financial wellbeing through education, advocacy, research, and community engagement. The organisation's approach is grounded on culture, trust, and community-led solutions that support financial inclusion and informed decision-making."
The partnership adds to First Nations Foundation's existing services, which includes My Money Dream, an award-winning, Indigenous-led online financial literacy training program and Tomorrow Money, a digital financial wellbeing hub which provides guides and articles on superannuation, credit, debt, and homeownership.
First Nations Foundation CEO Leah Bennett said the charity is excited to be partnering with Indigenous Business Australia.
"Meaningful change happens when organisations come together with a shared commitment to empowering First Nations people and communities," Ms Bennett said.
"Partnerships like this allow us to combine our strengths, deepen our reach and create an even greater impact than we could achieve alone.
Ms Bennett said First Nations Foundation knows improving financial being requires collaboration.

The partnership is the second announcement from Indigenous Business Australia this week after the government corporate unveiled its latest Corporate Plan.
