Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation has been recognised for its outstanding contribution to economic development and community empowerment at the inaugural 2025 Northern Territory Export and Business Awards.

Chairman Wanyubi Marika and Cultural Ambassador Wityana Marika proudly accepted the prestigious Excellence in Business - Not-for-Profit Award at a gala event held in Darwin on Friday night.

The accolade follows RAC's earlier win in the same category at the East Arnhem Regional Business Awards in August.

Presented by the NT Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the NT Government and a range of sponsoring partners, the function combined the previous Export Awards and the Business Excellence and Outstanding Customer Service Awards.

The event was a celebration of business excellence which recognised the significant contributions enterprises, individuals, start-ups, not-for-profits, and international exporters have made to the Territory's broader community and economy.

Mr Marika said the award was a powerful affirmation of the Corporation's strategic direction.

"This recognition confirms that the path we are taking to build strong commercial enterprises as we prepare for a post-mining future across East Arnhem is the right one," he said.

"I am incredibly proud of the work Rirratjingu Aboriginal Corporation is achieving. We are creating jobs and training opportunities for locals, building business capacity, and making sure that our community is ready to thrive in the years ahead."

RAC noted on Monday that the organisation has been "instrumental in developing sustainable business ventures that support local employment, cultural preservation, and long-term economic independence for the Rirratjingu people".

The Corporation's success highlights the growing strength of many of the Northern Territory's Aboriginal-led organisations in shaping the future of regional economies and delivering lasting impact.
