The Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council has announce the appointment of Neville Poelina as the new WA State Representative on the WAITOC Board.
Mr Poelina will fill a casual vacancy left by Clinton Walker until the Annual General Meeting of the organisation later this year.
WAITOC Chair Walter McGuire, extended his congratulations to Mr Poelina, acknowledging his longstanding involvement with WAITOC - both as member and former Chair of the organisation, and his significant contributions to Aboriginal tourism in Western Australia.
"Neville brings a wealth of experience, leadership and cultural knowledge to the Board," said Mr McGuire.
"His continued commitment to advancing Aboriginal tourism in Western Australia makes him a tremendous asset as we work toward a stronger, more sustainable industry."
Mr Poelina, a Nyikina man from the Kimberley, said he was honoured to return to the WAITOC and Aboriginal Tourism Western Australia (ATWA) Board.
"It is a tremendous honour to be appointed to the WAITOC and ATWA Board, and I'm excited to be working alongside Directors who are deeply committed to the growth of Aboriginal tourism in Western Australia," he said.
Mr McGuire also took the opportunity to thank outgoing WA State Representative, Mr Walker from Ngurrangga Tours, for his valuable contribution during his time on the Board.
"We sincerely thank Clinton for his time and dedication. His passion for Aboriginal tourism, particularly in the Pilbara and commitment to advancing the state's Aboriginal tourism industry have been greatly appreciated, and we wish him all the best," said Mr McGuire.
The Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council is the leading industry body for Aboriginal tourism in Western Australia.
