Diversity Council Australia (DCA) has appointed Ngarrindjeri woman Bronwyn Dodd to its Board of Directors.
Ms Dodd is the National General Manager for Indigenous Banking at Westpac, where she leads strategic initiatives to promote financial inclusion and drive sustainable economic outcomes for Indigenous communities across Australia.
She brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across banking, housing, health and community services. An active community member, she also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of the Cancer Council SA and Indigenous Business Australia's Investment Board.
Ms Dodd said she was pleased to be joining the DCA board.
"Throughout my career, I've seen the difference that inclusive practices make for people, organisations and communities," she said.
"I'm honoured to join DCA's Board and contribute to this critical work."
Her career has included senior executive roles such as Executive Director, Customers and Services at the South Australian Housing Authority, as well as leadership positions in finance and human resources within both public and private healthcare systems.
She also holds an MBA from the University of Adelaide.
DCA is an independent not-for-profit and charitable organisation, recognised as Australia's leading peak body for diversity and inclusion. It provides expert guidance to workplaces, policymakers and the broader community through research, tools, events, advocacy and education.
Chair Sunita Gloster AM said the board was delighted to welcome Ms Dodd.
"Her leadership experience and commitment to social impact will be invaluable as DCA continues to drive inclusion and productivity," she said.
"As a proud First Nations leader, she also brings a perspective that will enrich our work."
Brad Welsh, a member of DCA's People & Culture Board Committee who supported the recruitment process, said Ms Dodd's appointment would strengthen DCA's efforts to "ensure that First Nations voices continue to shape workplace inclusion nationally".
"Bronwyn is an exceptional leader whose track record shows both commercial strength and deep commitment to equity. She will be a great addition to the DCA Board..." he added.
