Free tender readiness workshops for First Nations organisations

The National Indigenous Employment and Training Alliance is delivering a series of free workshops to help First Nations organisations strengthen their readiness for future tender opportunities.

As the national voice for the Indigenous employment and training, and the only Indigenous-led peak body solely focused on this sector, The Alliance is working to build the capability of First Nations organisations to participate confidently in future procurement opportunities. Designed specifically for First Nations organisations, the workshops will build organisations confidence in tendering, procurement, capability statements, governance and preparing for future opportunities.

The workshops will be held around the country and online, with the next workshop held on the 15th July 2026in Naarm / Melbourne, Koorie Heritage Trust Birrarung Building, Federation Square, followed by Gadigal / Sydney on July 21 at Djiyagiyulang-gal Enterprise Hub Level 2, 27 Cope Street, Redfern, NSW, Australia and a range of others across the country thereafter.

The sessions are designed to support organisations to better understand how existing strengths, community relationships and operational experience can support long-term participation and growth within Employment Services.

What participants will learn

Participants will explore:

  • How Employment Services opportunities and procurement environments commonly operate
  • Organisational readiness, strengths and future opportunities
  • Governance, compliance and operational foundations for long-term sustainability
  • Practical approaches to capability statements and tender responses
  • Bid/no-bid decision-making and assessing future opportunities
  • Real-world sector insights, tools, templates and resources

Who should attend

This workshop is designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and mob at different stages of their Employment Services journey, including those beginning to explore the sector and organisations already delivering services or looking to expand future opportunities within Employment Services.

Indigenous-led and community focused

Delivered through an Indigenous-led approach, these workshops are focused on backing mob to strengthen capability, build confidence and better understand what is required to participate in future Employment Services opportunities.
